"The Utmost for the Highest"

Calabar begins its quest for the ISSA Manning Cup 2016/17

It is late August but the ISSA Manning Cup Football season has already begun with training camps and practice matches. Calabar is no exception. Under the strategic and skillful guidance of their new head coach Lijyasu Simms, more popularly known as “Shaka Shakes” the team has been placed in championship mode. The team started its preparation with worship at the Boulevard Baptist church from as early as July, where they have asked for spiritual guidance throughout their sojourn towards the cup.

They have played several practice matches and are showing progress. They have played and won matches against St. Catherine High, Excelsior High, Spanish Town High, Pembroke Hall Comprehensive and Kingston Technical. They ended in a draw between Clarendon College and Meadowbrook.

The team forms part of Group D when the season officially starts. Their group includes Bridgeport, St. Jago, Campion, Cumberland and Hydel.

Calabar Manning cup team will be managed by Andre Denny, Christopher Denny, Ewan Shaw, Phillip Williams, Ryan Brooks and Andrew Young.
